The quick answer

For me, the Samsung Jet Bot AI+ stands on top of the three. Despite its higher price point and heavier systems, the ai object recognition technology with real-time tracking is very hard to give up since it provides great value for the users. Other working mechanisms of these series are similar, but the AI+ still reigns supreme thanks also to its Home View capabilities wherein you can monitor what’s happening even if you are not in the area.

For those that have a low budget and want to not spend much on their purchase, the Samsung Jet Bot model will suffice since it has all the necessities of an amazing new robot vacuum. For those that are busy with their work and do not have much time for maintenance, the Jet Bot Plus model is the perfect one for you as it has a self-emptying base. Lastly, if you want full value out of your Samsung device, then you should never shy away from the AI+ variant.

Side by side comparison

As all Jet Bot models come from the same company, it is understandable for these products to have similar features with each other. This is a list of the features that can be seen in all of the robot vacuums.

LiDAR Mapping

LiDAR Mapping refers to the method of navigation of the robot vacuums. This uses laser-based information that bounces off surfaces so that real-time spatial coordinates can be tracked by the robot regarding its surroundings. This is an advanced technology that is even used in high-grade industries such as self-driving cars and surveying.

All of the Jet Bot models have this navigation system, and it greatly helps in the processing of the robot’s actual location. Without LiDAR mapping, these devices will just wander around the house. Not only that, but LiDAR also helps in the creation of virtual copies of the house’s layout.

Filtration

Filtration is a reliable method to keep everyone in the house safe. This refers to the blockage of dust particles in entry and exit points of the vacuum such as in the suction module, dust bin, as well as rollers. Without filtration, dust will dominate your house and this will lead to an influx of allergens that might harm your family members. Thus, it is always a must for robot vacuums.

All Jet Bot models are equipped with HEPA or High-Efficiency Filters in the dust bin. Samsung claims to be able to block 99.99% of fine dust with the help of this system. Furthermore, the filters can be replaced once they have worn out or are clogged to maintain optimal operation.

Intelligent Power Control

Intelligent power control refers to the vacuum’s ability to shift operational power levels depending on the floor type that it encounters. For example, once it touches a hard floor surface, this power control system automatically notches down suction power to around 70% power. Similarly, once it goes to a surface that has a rug or carpet in it, the system automatically prompts itself to around 100% of power to maximize cleaning.

This is one of the main advantages of the Samsung Jet Bot series compared to other products, as it can be said that they are the only company to implement this feature properly. It also has great benefits in terms of power-saving and electricity bills.

No-Go Zone

No-Go Zone refers to a box-type selection that is prompted on the user during the operation of the vacuum. Once the robot has determined the virtual map of the whole room, it will be presented on the screen. The owner can then select regions on the map that he does not want the robot to go to. This is advantageous especially if a specific place has breakables or other items that may tangle the robot such as cords.

The counterpart of this feature is Select & Go. As you guessed, this is the opposite of the former feature. Instead of avoiding specific places, this helps in the concentration of spots that require immediate attention. A user can just box a region and the robot will not stop cleaning it until proper tidiness is achieved.

All of these features are seen in the three models, making them competent in terms of user customization.

Real-Time Tracking

Real-time tracking refers to the amazing monitoring capability of the Jet Bot series and the SmartThings App on a mobile device. With the help of the LiDAR mapping, a user can track the real-time whereabouts of the robot at home, as well as it’s movement and choice of cleaning paths. This is beneficial for users who want to keep a check on whether the robot is functioning properly or not.

This is available on all Jet Bot models, meaning that tracking and real-time monitoring can be accomplished with them.

High-Efficiency Brush

A High-efficiency brush is the name of the game for the robot’s side brushes as well as the main roller brush. They are great in scraping off stuck gunk and contaminants in the floor and they even fight against hair entanglement. This makes the whole process less of a hassle since there will be no need to remove such disturbances during whole cleaning sessions.

Cleaning Modes

The three robots also have three main cleaning modes. These are standard, max, and selective. Standard cleaning refers to the automatic selection of the robot’s path based on the AI, and it doesn’t require human intervention. On the other hand, Max cleaning refers to the robot’s process wherein it functions at boosted power output regardless of floor type or material. This is very useful for those that want a quick clean.

Lastly, selective cleaning is the mode that incorporates No-Go Zones and Select & Go features. This is also called manual cleaning since a user has to select the regions that he wants to focus on. All of these features are very helpful for the general functioning of the robot vacuums.

Key Differences

Here are the Key Differences between the robot vacuum models that might change your mind regarding the purchase.

Self-emptying Base

The major difference between the three products is the existence of a self-emptying clean base. This refers to a station that is used to remove the need for consistent cleaning and maintenance of the dust bin filters which collects contaminants around the house. It also serves as the charging station that the Jet Bot follows when it is in low battery mode.

Only the Samsung Jet Bot AI+ and Samsung Jet Bot+ have this capability, as stated by the plus sign in their model names. Thus, it is clear that both of these robots have added functionality when it comes to the whole maintenance process.

Unfortunately, the normal Jet Bot model does not have this feature and it is only limited to the normal cleaning features. This could also be attributed to the low price point of the device as it is almost half of the AI+ model.

Camera Monitoring

Camera monitoring uses the HD Vision installed in a device to keep track of the status of a house regardless of human presence. This has benefits in terms of security and monitoring especially for homes that have pets or kids. Only the Samsung Jet Bot AI+ model has this capability, and this can be attributed to its expensive price.

On the other hand, the other two robots do not have a camera, as they solely rely on LiDAR data and infrared sensors for monitoring. Frankly speaking, I think that this function is optional since not everyone needs it especially if you have a CCTV system in your house for security purposes.

Sensors Present

This can also be seen as a game-changer in terms of your choice or robot vacuum. Most robot models nowadays make use of Infrared sensors for object detection paired either with VSLAM or LiDAR for mapping. The Jet Bot AI+, however, is super stacked considering that it has 3D Object Collision Sensors as the main sensor coupled with a smart LiDAR System.

This functionality is present in the Jet Bot and Jet Bot+ models, albeit at a lower scale. Instead of buffed 3D sensors, it only has Infrared sensors to avoid obstacles. Despite the downgrade, it is still a feature worthy to try for your house cleaning processes.

Total Suction Power

The three robots run at a 1.5-hour operating time. However, the AI+ model takes this up a notch as it can burst through a 30W power delivery at any given time. When compared to their siblings, they only mimic a fraction of their power as they only have 5W of the total available instantaneous output. Thus, a great gap is present in terms of sheer suction power. However, this can always be offset by the device’s intelligent power control.

Samsung jet bot+ can both clean hard floors and carpet

Object recognition

When talking about object recognition, it is clear that only the robot vacuums of the highest caliber have this functionality. Thus, it is not a surprise that this is present in the mega strong Samsung Jet Bot AI+ robot vacuum. As an expensive device, it can detect different types of objects on the floor then classify them according to their characteristics. It even maps the object’s location on the virtual map in real-time! This is very good especially for those people who can’t always keep track of their floor surfaces due to busy schedules.

Sadly, the feature is not available for the two lower-end robots. Of course, the price has a huge role to play in this, since it is a fact that object recognition systems are bound to be more expensive compared to those that have none. Despite this limitation, the robots are still more than capable of providing a proper clean of the house surface.

FAQs

Are the Jet Bot Vacuums worth the price?

As far as the review is concerned, according to my experiences in using these vacuums, I can say that they are worth the buy. Even the most basic Jet Bot model has features that are top-notch compared to other robot vacuums of the same price. The build and durability are also quite good and they should last for a long time.

Do they need Wi-Fi to run?

No, a Wi-Fi connection is not required. However, one must take note that without internet connectivity, you are limiting the things that your robot vacuum can do. The SmartThings App allows better control of the device in terms of monitoring, scheduling, and starting operations, and giving up this feature is not good.

How much floor area can they clean in a day?

It is very hard to say since different homes have different surfaces. However, there is no need to worry about cleaning a whole floor area since the auto-charging feature has you covered. Even if the robot stops due to low battery, it will still be able to clean the area properly once it recharges.

Is Samsung a good brand?

Yes, Samsung is a tech giant and an amazing brand evident to their presence on the market. They are a great electronic and appliances distributor and have continually improved since conception.

Is object recognition of the AI+ good?

Yes! There are even remarks that the object recognition of this robot is the best in the market.

Final thoughts

The most advanced robot vacuum which is the Samsung Jet Bot AI+ takes the cake for me. The object recognition, 3D sensors, AI-assist, and self-cleaning base are too good to give up for other variants. These features take the competition to a whole new level.

However, this does not mean that the other models are bad choices. The Samsung Jet Bot is great for entry level users who do not care for those complicated add-ons. Similarly, the Samsung Jet Bot+ is good for those who want to lessen maintenance times.

Overall, the build of these three robots as well as design are more than sufficient to make them acceptable home cleaning companions. I am amazed by the improvements that Samsung has made for the robot market, and I am excited for their future works.
