I use AI tools to help with research and first drafts. Every page is checked against its sources before it goes up, and every pick, verdict and opinion is mine. Here’s exactly where AI helps and where it doesn’t.
Where AI helps
- Research. AI tools help me gather what’s out there: which robots are still on sale, what the makers’ spec pages say, and what owners keep reporting across retailers, review sites and forums. Every fact they bring back has to come with a source, or it doesn’t go in.
- First drafts. Once the research is done and I’ve decided the picks, AI helps turn it into a first draft in my voice, using my house rules.
- Checking. AI tools also check the finished page: did a fact change in the rewrite, does every claim have a source, is there jargon nobody explained, and does any sentence promise more than the research found?
Where it doesn’t
- The picks and the verdicts. What to recommend, and who should skip it, is my call.
- Experience. AI never writes as if I used a robot I haven’t. When a page says “I’ve used this”, I have.
- Made-up facts. No invented specs, prices, ratings, review counts or quotes. If something can’t be confirmed, the page says so.
Why tell you
Because you should know how a page was made before you trust it with your money. If you spot something wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it.
The rest of the method is on the How I choose page.
