Roborock S7 MaxV Release Price
If you think the Roborock S7+ was a buzz, wait for the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra!
There has been an influx of robot vacuum cleaners in the past few years, with companies struggling to outdo each other. But we haven’t quite seen any phenomenal changes yet. Robot vacuums have remained almost the same, with the most advanced feature being an auto-emptying dock station.
However, that is about to change.
Roborock is making that happen with the new Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum coming out in the 2nd quarter of 2022. This robot vacuum promises 100% floor cleaning automation, plus up to 80% maintenance.
It’s designed to require very minimal interaction from the users, it will auto-empty the bin, auto-refill the tank, auto-wash the mop, and auto-clean itself. How exciting is that? Sounds like a dream come through to me.

Let’s take a closer look at Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra Robot Vacuum
Key Features
Fully automated: Empty wash fill dock
Robotic home gadgets, especially vacuum cleaners, claim to help users automate tasks and make their lives easier. But the reality is that these robots need a lot of input from us to get them to do clean.
We have to set them up and supervise them to make sure they don’t run into trouble, and even after completing the chores we still have to clean these gadgets and maintain them. Well, this is about to change with Roborock pioneering that change.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum is designed to take care of itself, it’s the closest you can get to fully automated. It can vacuum and mop, and requires minimal interaction from users.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum comes with a suite of features that completely automate robot care; self-emptying, self-cleaning, self-washing, and self-refilling. And it has just one dock; the Empty wash fills the dock.
Here’s a breakdown of how it works;
- Self-emptying: the auto-dustbin base automatically empties the bin when it’s full, up to seven weeks of not worrying about emptying the bin.
- Self-washing: a unique washing system washes the mop during and after cleaning
- Self-refilling: it automatically refills the water tank during cleanup for a mopping range of up to 300sqm (3230 sq ft).
- Self-cleaning: self-cleaning design cleans itself too for an even easier maintenance
Reactive AI 2.0: improved obstacle avoidance
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also spots ReactiveAI 2.0 for enhanced hazard recognition and avoidance. ReactiveAI 2.0 combines light 3D scanning with a new neural processing unit to accurately identify objects and avoid them.
More often than not, robotic vacuum cleaners get stuck in loose cables, kids’ toys, pet toys, shoes, or even pet waste, but the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum cleaner is equipped with machine learning for improved obstacle recognition and avoidance, and it reacts differently depending on what it ‘sees.’ It may get a little close to a shoe or toy, but stay completely away from pet waste.
Impressive 3D mapping
Another impressive feature of the new Roborock is the 3D structured light scanning and mapping. Roborock vacuum cleaners have always excelled at mapping, but the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra takes it to a whole new level. It’s equipped with LiDAR navigation, called PreciSence, for accurate floor mapping, and can update maps in real-time.
VibraRise mopping system
The VibraRise mopping system is not a new technology, we’ve seen it in the Roborock S7, but it’s still worth mentioning. VibraRise tech is an excellent feature that makes for advanced mopping, it’s essentially a combination of the smart mop lift with a sonic mopping pad.
With sonic mopping, the robot actively scrubs the floors to remove dried dirt, using a vibrating mop pad to loosen even the toughest of dirt. Plus the automatic mop lifting feature which activates when it senses a carpet, this means you can mop hard floors and vacuum carpets in one cleaning cycle.
5100 Pa suction power
Okay, this is certainly a lot of force for a vacuum cleaner, and no debris, pet hair, or dust particle stands a chance, not even those buried deep in carpet fibers. This much force will use up battery juices real quick, and Roborock took that into account with a large battery that charges 30% faster than usual, so the S7 MaxV can get back to cleaning fast.
Are you wondering how this newest Roborock gadget compares to previous models? Yeah, we were wondering the same thing too. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra sounds like an exciting gadget, and we couldn’t resist the urge to compare it with older Roborock models.
So here it is…
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra vs Roborock S7 Plus

Roborock S7+
Key differences
The only difference between the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and S7 MaxV Plus is the charging and auto-empty base.
LiDAR vs ReactiveAI 2.0
Roborock S7+ has a laser-based Precision LiDAR navigation system which ensures accurate navigation while simultaneously creating digital maps for automatic room recognition. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also has this feature, in addition to the reactive 2.0. The combination of LiDAR navigation and ReactiveAI 2.0 in the S7 MaxV takes mapping and obstacle avoidance to a whole new level.
Suction power: 2500 Pa vs 5100 Pa
2500 Pa is a powerful suction force for a robotic vacuum cleaner, and the excellent cleaning performance of the Roborock S7+ more than proves that. But what’s even more impressive is the 5100 Pa of the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. Since more suction equals more dirt pick-up and better cleaning power, especially on carpets, the S7 MaxV Ultra is certainly great news if you love carpeted flooring or have pets who shed a lot.
Mopping function
Here the Roborock S7+ and the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra are on par since they both have the VibraRise sonic vibration technology, which combines the automatic mop lift and sonic mopping pads for an outstanding mopping feature. However, the Robrock S7 MaxV still leads because it has the special Empty-wash-fill dock to automatically refill its own water tank and clean the mop during and after mopping.
While the Roborock S7+ robot vacuum only has a 300 ml water tank, that’s enough to clean 2150 sq ft in one cleaning session. If you have a mix of carpet and hardwood floors then the vacuum is intelligent enough to clean both types of flooring in a single cleaning session.
Auto-empty dock vs Empty-wash-fill dock
While the S7+ comes with an auto-dust disposal dock for automatic dirt disposal, the S7 MaxV leads with the most advanced dock to date, the Empty-wash-fill dock.
Minimal interactions are required of customers with the S7 MaxV Ultra robot vacuum thanks to its new Empty Wash Fill dock that scrubs the mop, cleans the dock, and holds up to seven weeks of dust collected by the vacuum. Mapping has always been a powerful feature of Roborock, but now we see full 3D mapping support and much better obstacle avoidance.
Any price difference?
When it first launched in Q1 2021, the Roborock S7 retailed on Amazon at the starting price of $649. Now, the S7+ package (plus the auto-empty dock) can usually be found for a little under $1000. Whereas, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is expected to be priced at $1399.99.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra vs Roborock S6 MaxV

Roborock S6 MaxV
Key differences
ReactiveAI vs ReactiveAI 2.0: Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is an upgrade on the advanced obstacle recognition and depth perception of the S6 MaxV. They both combine laser sensors and cameras for better peripheral vision and depth perception, recognizing and avoiding objects like shoes, socks, and other small objects on the floor.
Suction power: with a maximum suction power of 2500 Pa, the S6 MaxV still falls way behind the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, although it does a great job of picking-up fine dust from floors and can reach deep into carpets.
Mapping system: S6 MaxV has a multi-level mapping system that uses PreciSense LiDAR and visual scene recognition to recognize different levels of a home automatically. And Roborock S7 MaxV combines LiDAR and structured 3D mapping.
Mopping function: While the S7 MaxV Ultra features the VibraRise tech, the Roborock S6 MaxV doesn’t have an active carpet detection for the mopping function, which is a little disappointing.
