1-Minute Review

PAXCESS Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner - Wall-Climbing Fuction with Smart Route Plan, Automatic Pool...

Cordless robotic pool cleaners do not only completely eliminate the problem of untangling an extra-long power cable, but they also have greater mobility because there isn’t any cord to hinder their movement.

As a cordless pool cleaner with wall-climbing function, the Paxcess cordless 8600mAh is the first of its kind. It’s equipped with an efficient three-axis motor with a 4-wheel drive system, powerful bottom brush, superior filtering capabilities, and a smart gyroscope with an array of smart sensors to ensure the robot intelligently navigates the pool while cleaning, saving time and effort.

A large in-built 8600mAh rechargeable Lithium-ion battery, with the IPX8 waterproof design, provides power to the robot for a total cleaning time of 90 mins to ensure complete coverage of the floors, walls and waterline. This robotic pool cleaner comes with a 2-year warranty. However, this kind of innovation comes at a price. This cleaner is priced to be among some of the best in the business such as the Dolphin Premier or Sigma.

Full Review

How did the Paxcess Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner work?

With a powerful wall-climbing action and a cordless design, the Paxcess cordless 8600 mAh seamlessly cleans large in-ground pools without the restraint of a long power cord.

This cordless automatic pool cleaner is designed to expertly clean every inch of swimming pools, from the pool floors, walls and waterline. Using a powerful 4-wheel drive system and 4pcs advanced brushes, the robot drives around the pool to efficiently clean the pool’s floor and every inch of the surfaces.

It is this drive that elevates the performance when compared to suction cleaners, but also elevates the price tag.

As the active scrubbers dislodge dirt, twin extra-large top-loader filter baskets trap all the rubbish including leaves, large dirt, and fine debris particles, while also circulating the water through the suction doors.

With the combined action of the scrubbers and a powerful filtration system (with filtration precision up to 180 um), this robotic pool cleaner will leave both the surfaces of your swimming pool and the pool water shiny and sparkling after every clean.

To ensure excellent navigation while cleaning, the Paxcess pool robot cleaner is equipped with a smart gyroscope and an array of sensors to detect the entire layout of the pool, with this the robot will follow the most efficient cleaning route both for floor and wall cleaning.

This Paxcess wall climbing cordless robotic pool cleaner also has a pre-installed unique computer program that prevents it from driving out of the swimming pool while cleaning the waterline.

This energy-saving pool cleaner comes with an advanced three-axis motor which is powered by a large rechargeable 8600mAh Li-ion battery. On a single charge, this battery is able to power the robot for a maximum cleaning time of 1.5 hours for deep cleaning, and it can clean both in-ground and above-ground pools of up to 1614 sq ft.

Performance

This Paxcess pool robot is an excellent machine for cleaning both in-ground and above-ground, and it has impressive cleaning power. The best parts of its predecessor have been retained and improved upon while embracing a cordless design and the wall-climbing feature.

It’s perhaps the first robotic pool cleaner with these two features, plus a battery detection technology that enables the robot to stop along the pool shore before the battery completely dies out plus a yellow indicator light for low battery status.

It also stops by the shore after a cleaning cycle to enable you to easily pull it out of the water via the floating handle. Not only that, but it beautifully cleans the pool and the filter tray captures large and floating debris as well as most of the tiny dirt particles.

The wall-climbing features are impressive, the robotic pool cleaner will systematically drive around the walls and clean up to the waterline, but it has a hard time cleaning pool steps and won’t clean them as well as you’d want. Besides this, the robot cleaner has a superior cleaning performance and delivers a deep clean in 90 mins.

Limitations

This Paxcess cordless robotic pool cleaner comes with a built-in 8600mAh rechargeable battery for running a wireless 90 mins cleaning cycle, this is a great replaceable for the long power cords found in traditional pool robots, however, there is a drawback to this cordless design.

The in-built battery takes about 7 to 8 hours to charge, this is a very long time to wait, and on days when you need to quickly drop the robot in the pool for a quick clean, it may not be possible if the robot isn’t charged.

To seamlessly use the robot without running out of power, you’ll have to always recharge the battery after every cleaning. You don’t want to get to the point that you need to clean the pool but the robot didn’t charge. This is not a problem with cabled robotic pool cleaners.

Another concern is the absence of a remote control or an app for controlling the robot. It would be nice to be able to direct the movement of the robot or instruct it to clean certain areas it may have missed or switch from one cleaning mode to another. But, this product, unfortunately, has just a single cleaning mode.

Paxcess wall climbing cordless robotic pool cleaner has battery detection technology, the pool cleaner will stop automatically at the edge of the pool when the battery runs out

Ease of set up and use

Like most other robotic pool cleaners in the market, the Paxcess cordless automatic pool robot is very easy to use and requires little. The first step to getting the robot to work after unboxing is to connect the charger to a power supply and let the robot charge for some hours, it takes about 7 to 8 hours for the lithium battery to fully charge.

With the battery fully charged, drop the robot to the bottom of the swimming pool and turn it on via the power switch; a blue indicator light will show you that the robot is working properly, a yellow light indicates low battery and a lavender light indicates that there may be a problem with the robot.

This robotic in-ground/above-ground pool cleaner has a single cleaning mode that runs for about 90 minutes for a deep clean and after each cleaning, the robot will stop along the swimming pool shore for easy removal. Unlike some other fancy pool vacuum, this robot doesn’t come with a mobile app or remote control, and you can only control it using the power button.

Reliability

This robot pool cleaner is sturdily built with high-quality materials to ensure durability. It’s a reliable product with an excellent cleaning performance and will thoroughly clean the pool wall of an in-ground pool.

Keeping this pool robot in great shape doesn’t require much, and it also comes with a 2-year warranty from the manufacturer. This is certainly a great option for a wall-climbing and wireless robot for automating pool maintenance; no installation hoses, no worries about tangle power cable and no worries about pool pump and manual cleaning.

Ongoing Maintenance

Paxcess automatic pool cleaner is easy to maintain, it’s a simple machine and requires only basic care. The manufacturers require that you empty the twin filter baskets after every cleaning cycle and use a garden hose to rinse out every tiny piece of dirt particle.

While cleaning the cartridge filters, take care to remove even the tiniest bit of dirt, the fine mesh has very small holes that can hold tiny debris, ensure you carefully get everything out to prevent clogging which can interfere with the filtration.

To access the top-loader extra-large filter basket, press the button on the front of the robot to remove the top cover, then gently pull out the basket using the handle. Replacing the basket after cleaning is also just as easy.

Extra Purchases and ongoing costs

As a robot with moving parts, there will certainly be a need to replace some of these parts with time. For instance, the bottom scrubber and the filtration system will need replacement after every few months.

The wheels may also need replacement if they become worn out and the battery may need to replaced after a few years.

You can find any of these parts on Amazon or contact the company directly to place your orders. Lastly, a pool caddy is an important extra feature to purchase if you want one, this robot weighs about 24 pounds which is relatively heavy and a caddy will make for easier transportation and storage.

This robotic in-ground pool cleaner comes with a 2-year warranty which covers the motors and non-wearable, and in case the robot develops a technical fault, that will be handled by the company.
