Neabot Robot Vacuum Cleaner Full Review
With the new technological advancements in the home gadgets’ industry, robot vacuum cleaners are gradually becoming a sensation and a lot more useful than they have ever been. And with these fancy but very efficient home assistants, staying on top of chores and maintaining a busy work busy schedule has never been easier.
Designed to take care of the messy chore of sweeping dirt up your floors, domestic robotic vacuum cleaners are obviously a much-needed home assistant for parents whose daily schedule revolves around work deadlines, boisterous kids, pets and a bunch of other chores.
The Neabot robot vacuum cleaner is currently one of the most useful automatic vacuuming machines available in the market. It comes with the features you’d see in the most premium robots out there but at a very pocket-friendly price tag, this singular feature has put the Neabot at shoulder level with the likes of iRobot Roomba i7+ and S9.
The robot sports the Lidar Navigation and SLAM technology which gives it very precise mapping ability and it accurately identifies objects in the home and obstacles in its path so it never gets trapped. It cleans in a systematic line pattern and has side brushes to ensure that every inch of your home is covered.
Neabot comes with 3 different levels of suction power; the Silent mode (700Pa) regular mode (1200Pa), and strong suction with an impressive suction power of 2700pa, and you can set your robot vacuum to any of these levels to either ramp up the vacuuming power or tune it down depending on how messy your home is.
At 3.8 inches tall, this robot has a low profile and will smoothly drive in and out of tight spaces including under the furniture to get things without getting stuck. Having to crawl beneath your bed to rescue a stuck robot isn’t a problem you’ll encounter with the Neabot.
How Does The Neabot Robot Vacuum Work?

Designed to completely take over your floor vacuuming chore, Neabot comes with an array of interesting features to see that your floors are always pristine and shiny.
The robot first uses its LDS and a built-in SLAM algorithm to literally make neabot smarter and allow for simultaneous localization and mapping. It creates a virtual map of the room which you can access via the Neabot mobile app, it then proceeds to move along the outer walls in straight lines before zigzagging its way through your floors all the while neatly avoiding obstacles on its path.
The LDS (Laser Distance Sensors) scans the floor up to a distance of 6 meters thus providing the robot with an accurate obstacle detection ability. It uses dual multi-surface rubber brushes to sweep up dust, dirt, & large debris, and has a high-efficiency filter for trapping up to 99% of mold, pollen & dust mite allergens.
Neabot is ideal for homes with pets and neatly picks up all forms of dirt from different floor types, you can set the multiple levels of suction power to the highest 2700Pa level deeper carpet cleaning or set it as low as 700Pa for a standard clean.
The noise level of this robot is between 55 and 70 dB, that is from the lowest suction setting to the highest, and at the lowest level the robot is almost noiseless and at the highest level you’ll still be able to smoothly go on with your day and have normal conversation while the robot is hard at work.
The robot comes with a large 5200mAh Lithium-ion battery and will work for 3 hours at full charge, and when the battery hits a certain low percentage level the robot will automatically head back to the docking station for a recharge.
This robot not only vacuums the floor but also empties its own dirt chamber, it’s fitted with an extraction station which doubles as a charging station. After each cleaning cycle, the robot drives back to the charging station to automatically empty its 0.6 liters trash can and get a recharge.
Performance

The Neabot is an amazing vacuuming machine with an organized approach to cleaning. Using laser sensors, it first maps out the area it is going to vacuum and then systematically cleans it in straight line patterns. And with the app you can monitor it during the entire cleaning process, and adjust cleaning settings customize to ensure it cleans everywhere leaving out no nooks and crannies.
The map it creates is saved in the app and you can edit it to better personalize your cleaning experience. The Neabot is almost the perfect floor vacuuming robot, it has all the useful features and does almost everything right, safe for a few drawbacks. First, its sensors are unable to detect small objects like cables which means it will most likely run into a pile of cables left lying around.
This robot doesn’t have the auto-boost carpet detect features, this means it doesn’t automatically crank up its suction force when it detects carpet flooring and you will always have to manually increase the suction force yourself.
The self emptying dustbin neabot automatically transfers the dirt collected into the bag lined dustbin without leakage, so you don;t have to worry about piles of dirt around the docking station.
And lastly the app, it works well but needs some tweak to improve the overall performance, and I do hope that the Neabot team is currently doing something about it. Overall, this is an excellent floor-cleaning robot and with a near-perfect performance.
Ease Of Set Up And Use

When your Neabot robot vacuum arrives, download the Neabot Home app to enable you enjoy all the useful features of this amazing gadget. Ensure you download the latest app with the latest updates before connecting it to your machine, it’s compatible with only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi which obviously isn’t ideal.
If you have any issues, their YouTube channel has some handy little “how to” videos.
This robot is also shipped with a remote control which is a very useful controller and can be used as a substitute for the app, however, most of the controls are on the mobile app. You can completely customize your cleaning via the app and create zones on the map with different cleaning settings.
The app permits you to draw rectangles on areas on the map where you want the robot to specially focus on, you can map out zones for cleaning and schedule cleaning times for these special areas. If there are areas in your home which you want cordoned off, this is also possible via the app.
You can also set Do-Not-Disturb times which are times when you’d prefer the robot to not work. Beside the mobile app, the Neabot is also compatible with voice controls and can be controlled via Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
Reliability
The Neabot comes with 26 suites of sensors which makes a fully automated cleaning possible. Despite being a very new brand, this robot has a tonne of useful designs and obviously built with durability in mind.
It’s shipped with a 30-day no-worry return and 1-year warranty from its manufacturers, plus auto-sealed debris bags enough to hold dirt for up to 4 weeks and a self-clean base for automatic dirt disposal. It’s a machine that’s designed to serve you well and built with very solid materials.
Ongoing Maintenance

Like most other robotic vacuum cleaners, the Neabot will need some form of maintenance and commitment from its owner to stay in top shape and maintain top performance for as long as possible. First off, the sweeping brushes will have to be checked and cleaned to prevent it from getting all tangled up with hair strands. This will depend on how frequently you clean and whether or not you have furry family members who shed often.
Also depending on how often you clean, the collection bag at the top must be removed and disposed of after about one month. You will have to wipe down the sensors to ensure they don’t get covered with a layer of dust which will interfere with obstacle detection and navigation.
And finally, replacement parts should be purchased from authorized dealers and changed promptly to ensure the robot’s performance remains excellent.
Extra Purchases And Ongoing Costs
The Neabot is shipped with all the essential parts including the extraction station (Clean Base) which doubles as the charging station. It even comes with enough auto-sealed debris bags to hold dirt for up to 4 weeks.
It also comes with two additional brush heads (with two already mounted on the bottom of the robot), additional HEPA filter and the remote controller comes with two AAA batteries which is very thoughtful, so after the purchase you won’t be making any extra purchase for a long time.
However, with continuous usage and the passage of time, you will have to purchase a debris bag kit containing 6 auto-seal debris bags for $19.9 or an all-in-one kit which contains 8 side brushes, 2 HEPA filters, 2 main brushes, and 4 debris bags for $39.99.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why does it tell me the bag is not positioned right? And it doesn’t empty the bags?
The robot and the extraction station are designed such that the content of the debris chamber is sucked out at the bottom by a feeder into the extraction station and ends up in a bag at the top. Therefore, if you get an error message that the bag isn’t positioned well or the debris bags won’t empty properly, then check the robot to see if the self-emptying tunnel and the hole connecting to the trash can on the robot is blocked by trash. If it’s blocked, remove the stuff causing blockage.
- Can the self-emptying base be kept on a carpet floor or must it on a hardwood floor?
There isn’t any special type of surface where the extraction station/charging station must be kept and you can keep it on any type of surface.
- How often should I clean the roller brushes?
This will depend on how messy your home gets and how often the robot cleans. If you have pets that shed a lot and the robot is scheduled to clean every day, then you will have to clean the brushes at least once or twice a week.
- Is Wi-Fi a requirement for the robot to work?
Neabot comes with multiple controls, a remote control and a mobile app. But you will need Wi-Fi for the mobile app which is where all the nice features and customization options are, such as no-go zones and scheduling. The remote control is useful but it’s limited compared to the app, so you’ll need Wi-Fi to truly enjoy the robot.
Neabot Robot Vacuum Cleaner Review Final Thoughts
Neabot is an excellent robot vacuum cleaner that stands up to most other robot vacuums on the market.
It’s an amazing home assistant who works with very little help from you, it cleans when you want it to and empties its own bin and you only have to schedule it and occasionally clean out the self-emptying base.
Neabot offers many high-end features yet it has the price tag of a budget robot vac, it’s no doubt an investment you’ll most definitely enjoy.
