1-Minute Coredy R650 Review

Coredy Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Personalized Customize Robotic Vacuums Skin, 2500Pa Hurricane Suction,...

The Coredy R650 is a device that combines “classic” automation systems with boosted cleaning features to provide quality service that surpasses connectivity issues. Various shortcomings in certain areas aside, the cleaning power of the Coredy R650 is excellently optimized through the inclusion of various complementary features coexisting to build an efficient system that provides maximum suction power all the time.

  • Boost-Intellect Technology
  • Integrated Sponge Filters
  • 120-minute Average Runtime
  • Optimized Height for Deeper Cleaning
  • Magnetic Strip Recognition

The integration of these features, apart from improving the cleaning capabilities of the Coredy R650, likewise maximizes the device’s utility, convenience, and efficiency.

With the help of a single touch, cleaning routines are subsumed into a simple matter of minor monitoring – making it ideal for taking some load off your hands. It certainly is not the definition of perfect, but it holds its ground within the race despite having a few rough patches here and there.

Of course, as with most robot vacuums found around the $200 price point, there are a number of smart features missing. While it will find its dock when low on juice, it won’t be able to resume where it last stopped, there is also no smart mapping or app and voice command.

This may actually be a good thing. It means it becomes a great robot vacuum for grandparents or maybe for the less tech-savvy users.

But, looking beyond the shortcomings of Coredy R650 when it comes to its ease of use, it is evident that its cleaning prowess is far from subpar. With its intelligent cleaning system, improved coverage, and cleaning-optimized hardware, it certainly exudes quality from the get-go. Sure, optimization of its certain features would propel it forward by a few hundred miles, but it still effectively accomplishes its most important features nonetheless.

  • Minimal noise during cleaning
  • Top-notch cleaning power
  • Improved disposal and filtration systems
  • Long runtime capacity
  • Smart operations
  • Smartphone access is not supported
  • Smart-mapping unavailable
  • Bluetooth connection is not allowed
  • Magnetic strip installation is time-consuming

Full Review

Under The Hood

Coredy is a brand that has produced some fantastic robot vacuums yet still kind of fly under the radar as great Roomba Alternatives. Last year, their R750 consistently was one of our favorites, and the new, top-of-the-line L900, is a stunning machine.

The Coredy R650 is a budget robot vacuum cleaner that shines a spotlight on its maximum cleaning power and utility. It provides a suction power of around 1600Pa along with its Boost-Intellect Technology that allows for consistent performance, even while it transitions from hardwood floors to carpets or vice versa.

On top of that, it is integrated with a washable HEPA filter and an additional sponge filter which allows the device to absorb and trap dust particles, pet hair, or even minuscule allergens.

These features are further elevated with its additional amenities designed to optimize the power and quality that it provides. It comes with a 2600 mAh Li-ion battery that provides nearly 2 hours of cleaning time before it automatically returns to its charging dock.

Virtual boundaries are also established with relative ease through magnetic border strips which signals an off-limit area. It is not the most innovative of all virtual boundary setups, but it essentially provides a more precise border setup through well-thought-out strip installations.

Top that all off with its improved design in terms of its new super-slim profile (providing maximum coverage) and dustbin (ease of access and disposal), no feature is overshadowed by another and everything glows to make the entire device shine.

Performance

Consistent with its promised results, the Coredy R650 performs well in the cleaning department, being able to collect a staggering amount of dust and particles.

The dustbin gets filled up very quickly due to the inclusion of an additional filter, but this presents no problem as its easy-access disposal hatch hastens this procedure to mere minutes.

It is also able to transition beautifully between varying floor materials – effectively making the cleaning procedure more efficient after setting up the border strips. In a sense, it can maximize all its cleaning functionalities due to the various amenities being utilized simultaneously to bring out its maximum potential.

However, much like with any other product, it does come short in a few areas despite its flawless excellence in its cleaning power.

The Coredy R650’s navigation system seems slightly underwhelming due to its “classic” integrated system. Despite automation being one of the core principles of a robotic vacuum, the device’s automatic tracking and navigation system falls flat and sometimes results in an incoherent cleaning route. Although its cleaning power stands a foot above the rest, its optimization for its underlying areas could use a little tweak and adjustment.

Initial Use and Setup

The efficiency of a device shines the brightest when its ease of operation is evident from start to finish – making the Coredy R650 a perfect candidate for the title of such.

Prior knowledge regarding robot vacuums is not necessary as its setup and use only dictates for surface-level familiarity with, say, a remote.

During its initial setup, the device’s charging dock only needs to be plugged in and placed against a wall that has around 6 feet of free space in front and 3 feet of free space on its sides to accommodate the device’s self-docking feature.

This and attachment of two side brushes in the underside of the device aside, no other procedures are necessary to start its first cleaning cycle. Installing the border strips and familiarizing yourself with the ideal cleaning routine for a certain room might consume a significant amount of time to straighten out.

Nevertheless, this procedure is far from professional-level and is simply a little preparatory work to ensure that you are utilizing its maximum capabilities to its fullest.

Consistency and Durability

Daily use could put a lot of strain on a device, making durability one of the benchmark qualities that most people seek from essential machines – a milestone that the Coredy R650 achieves.

The consistency of its cleaning procedure pretty much similar throughout its lifetime. Its suction power, as well as its Boost-Intellect technology that modifies its performance to perfectly, cater to the environment remains functional even after its consistent and prolonged use.

This is further highlighted by its long-lasting battery that pumps out consistent power and runtime even after a few years’ worth of use, requiring little to no replacement at all.

Apart from its recurring issue of navigation and getting stuck in certain places, the device holds up well to rigorous use and maximum utilization, speaking volumes about how high its quality is above the rest.

Maintenance, Replacements, and Tweaks

Despite the misconception that cleaning devices should do all the cleaning (as they probably should), their internal components and parts are a completely different issue.

Due to this, the Coredy R650 has a few recommended maintenance procedures that you could employ to ensure that its suction power and efficiency are not overwhelmed in any way. The filter, side brush, and rolling brush should be cleaned at least once per week to remove matted particles within each bristle.

On the other hand, the brush guard, sensors, and wheels should be cleaned at least once a month to prevent any build-up that could leave more dust than it picks up.

Most of these components, except for the sensors, are also recommended to be replaced now and then, especially when damages are inevitable for some cases. Fortunately, extra side brushes and an extra HEPA filter are included to cater to these needs to provide ideal performance for as long as these components are maintained.

 Recommended Upgrades and Additional Purchases

To maximize its utility and quality, certain purchases might be necessary for various situations. Despite its well-established durability, the Coredy R650, much like any other robot vacuum, will require replacement parts to ensure that its cleaning process is consistently kept at its finest.

Encountering a case, for example, where you might have to replace and purchase a new side brush is possible and is to be expected from a thorough cleaning device. In addition to that, additional magnetic border strips might also be necessary when trying to map out a larger space that will require more strips than is provided to accommodate.

These purchases are not necessarily restrictive of its normal function, but they will make its performance ideal and consistent for every use. Think of it as an investment in its quality – a purchase that goes a long way for its performance.

FAQs

What are the accessories included in the package?

The additional accessories included in the package are the 2 sets of 6.6 feet magnetic strips, 4 side brushes, 1 extra HEPA filter, and the remote control with 2 AAA batteries included.

Do I need WiFi for the Coredy R650?

No, as this operates solely through its remote and integrated buttons. From setting the clock to setting its cleaning schedule and specifications, the remote handles all its functionalities with the occasional essential functions available on the device itself.

Does it have a fall-proof integrated function?

It does, and boundary strips are not necessary for stairs! The device recognizes places with a drop height of around 80-100 mm and avoids the area entirely to prevent any risk of falling.

How do you attach the magnetic strips?

Considering that the strips do not have an adhesive side, you may use your personal choice for an adhesive or a 3M adhesive tape to establish the boundaries.

How does it perform when moving across ledges?

It performs excellently when crossing ledges as it can cross heights of around 15 to 20cm to move from one room to another.

Final Verdict: Yay or Nay?

Indeed, the Coredy R650 provides various functionalities that allow it to shine in both the area of cleaning and automation – providing you with a few additional hours of free time that you could freely use for whatever fancies your imagination.

Its cleaning power, battery life, and consistent performance are unrivaled, but much like with any other device, it does have a few shortcomings when it comes to its navigation and “initial” convenience.

Nevertheless, the device performs excellently to tick off a busy person’s checklist, providing an optimal service with consistency, quality, and finesse.

If you are looking for a new cleaning companion that is a simple choice with no complications, yet offers solid performance and falls in the cheaper end of the robot vacuum market, this might just be the ideal place for you to start.
