The quick answer

After a series of testing, we found that the Aiper Seagull Plus is the better automatic pool robot cleaner. While the Aiper Seagull SE offers good value for money, you can definitely do better.

And a much better option is the Aiper Seagull Plus, with its dual-drive motors and longer battery life. After a single charge, the Aiper Seagull Plus can clean for 120 mins. The LED battery indicator also alerts you when the battery needs charging.

Both Aiper Seagull Plus and Aiper Seagull SE offer value for your money, but if we were to pick a better option, we would go for the Aiper Seagull Plus. It performs better and has better features.

Both robotic pool cleaners fall short in a few aspects; they do not clean walls, and their motors can be considered weak. They both also need to be charged for longer than they clean. However, the Aiper Seagull Plus packs better features than the Seagull SE.

However, before you make a buying decision, there are other factors to consider, such as price, warranty, and the kind of pool you have. For a more detailed comparison between these two pool cleaners, read to the end of this article.

Product overviews

Let’s take a better look at these products, what makes them such a great buy, and where we think they could do better,

The Aiper Seagull SE

AIPER Cordless Robotic Pool Cleaner, Pool Vacuum Lasts 90 Mins, LED Indicator, Self-Parking, Ideal...

The manufacturers of the Aiper Seagull SE refer to it as one of the best cordless robotic pool cleaners making it hassle free and prevents having more messy hoses. And it has features that make it look that way. The Aiper Seagull SE is Aiper’s sleekiest and most streamlined robot to date.

It comes in a sleek, solid white light grey colour scheme and has an angular design. But what we like the most about the Aiper Seagull SE is how easy it is to use.

Simply power and charge this robot for 2.5 hours and drop it in your pool, and it will automatically start cleaning for 90 minutes, scooping and cleaning dirt and debris it can find into a self-contained holding tank. Because of its hydrodynamic design, the robot decreases resistance from the pool.

When it’s done, simply remove it with the included retrieval hook, discard the debris, and charge it.

The Aiper Seagull isn’t perfect. It balks at large leaves and can only cover about 850 square feet of pool surface. We found that the self-parking feature doesn’t work perfectly at all times. To clean and empty the filter tray, you must disassemble and reassemble it when you are done.

However, at a price point below $300, the Aiper Seagull is a good enough robotic cleaner from the Aiper Seagull series.

TICK-1
  • It has a sleek and angular design that gives it an aesthetic appeal.
  • It is lightweight and fast.
  • Cleans particles efficiently.
  • It is easy to use.
CROSS
  • The self-parking feature doesn’t always work.
  • It does not clean walls or water lines.
  • Can’t effectively clean up very large leaves.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the pool cleaner can get tiresome.

The Aiper Seagull Plus

(2023 Upgrade) AIPER Seagull Plus Cordless Pool Vacuum, Robotic Pool Cleaner Lasts 110 Min, Stronger...

The Aiper Seagull Plus is less sleek than the Seagull SE, and the design is less angular, but don’t let that fool you. The Aiper Seagull Plus has many better features than the Seagull SE.

It is a cordless robotic pool cleaner, like all the other products in the Seagull series. And just like the seagull pro and the Seagull SE, the battery requires about 2.5 hours to fully charge. The Seagull Plus can’t climb walls either.

But this is where the similarities end. Because the Seagull Plus is packed with features that make it much better than the Seagull SE. This 6.24kg robotic pool cleaner can clean up to 1300 square feet. When it is fully charged, it can go for more than 2 hours. It has two independent brushes, a motor power of 50W and a suction port width of 14cm.

A feature we love is the quick drain feature and it makes maintaining this pool cleaner easier. The AiperSeagull Plus is also reasonably priced.

  • Efficient and effective cleaning process.
  • Covers a wide area of flat pool surface.
  • It is Fast and lightweight, and easy to use. All it takes is one click.
  • It is affordable.

Side by side comparison

The Aiper Seagull SE and Aiper Seagull Plus share similarities and are great at cleaning your pool’s water, which is the reason for this comparison. Let’s look at some features that make these two products similar.

Cordless

The Seagull SE and the Seagull Plus are completely cordless, so you do not have to worry about more tangled cords when cleaning your pool.

Longer battery life

The two cordless pool cleaners are powered by long-lasting batteries. When charged fully, the Seagull SE’s battery lasts up to 90 minutes, while the Seagull plus can last up to 2 hours. The two batteries also have a total charging time of 2.5 hours.

Easy to setup and operate

Both pool cleaners are extremely easy to set up. They come almost ready to use from the bus. All you have to do is attach the two brushes, charge and take it for a spin. They both also work best on round above-ground pools.

Key differences

Now that we have seen how similar these pool cleaners are, let’s look at their differences and see what makes one better.

Cleaning area

A major difference between these two automatic pool cleaners is the area they can cover. While the Aiper Seagull SE can navigate and cover 850 square feet, the Seagull Plus can do as far as 1300 square meters.

Battery life

While the Seagull SE and the Seagull Plus both have relatively long-lasting batteries, they vary on how long both batteries last. The Seagull SE’s battery only lasts 90 minutes, while the Seagull Plus can last up to 2 hours and when its battery runs low, it stops at the edge of the pool.

Weirdly the battery power does not seem to be the cause for this difference because while the Aiper Seagull SE boasts a 4000mAh battery, the Seagull Plus only has 3000mAh.

Motor power

Although these two robot vacuums come with powerful dual-drive motors, the Seagull SE comes with a much weaker motor than the Seagull Plus. The Motor power of the Seagull SE is 30W, while that of the Seagull Plus is 50W.

Suction and suction port width

This is another feature that separates the Aiper Seagull Plus from the Seagull SE. The suction of the Seagull Plus is 44 GPM, while that of the Seagull SE is 11 GPM. This is important because it directly affects how well the robot works.

The suction port width is also different in the two, although this is not a major cause for concern.

Quick drain

The Aiper Seagull Plus comes with a quick drain feature. On the other hand, the Aiper Seagull SE does not have this feature.

Aiper Seagull SE vs Aiper Seagull Plusfinal thoughts

We must admit that we understand why choosing between these two Aiper robotic pool cleaners is difficult. They have similar features, and while the Aiper Seagull Plus is superior, it comes at a higher price than the Seagull SE.

Our verdict? We think the Aiper Seagull Plus is worth the extra $100. However, you can go for the Aiper Seagull SE if you do not have the budget.
